Tragedy...

Hey Guys!
I wish I could write to you in better circumstances but I can't. What happened on Monday was truly a horrible act and will be one of the worst tragedies in the history of America. Hearing what happened through a phone call with my mother, I could not believe it. How could it happen at Tech? Well it did.. Look at the history of horrible events such as 9/11 and the Oklahoma City Bombing. It happened where you least expect it. That's the sad thing about events like these, it always happens in a quiet neighbor or a landmark that is a symbol to a certain people.
This tragedy hit home for all of us because we might know someone there or it happened to a neighbor of ours. The "aftermath" of that tragic day is starting to unravel where the wounds are too fresh for students and those affected the most. We recently, just discovered that Cho Seung sent a package to NBC Studios in NY with pictures, a letter, and video spewing words of hate in between the two shootings. Also the WBC, or Western Baptist Church has recently professed to the media their opinion of the matter. I really do not want to post their message in my blog because I have my own opinions about it as well as many others.. Just research it and you shall see. Their leader has also claimed to the media that they will try to be at every memorial service and funeral for the victims protesting what they believe went wrong in our society and "why God punished VA Tech."
What we as a community need to do is to take time to heal. No debates or speeches about what could have been done because honestly sometimes when those actions take place the results seem to be irrational. There is new information coming out by the day and we as a community and a country need to process before we come to any conclusions or start to play the "blame game" as so many in the media call it. All of us will never forget that day or those wh0 were lost because it really could have happened on any college campus. God Bless, Tech!
Signing Off,
Samantha D'Introno
